UNDERSTANDING TESTS AND RESULTS

Understanding Test Formats
We have customized the tests we use for general testing purposes and these tests consist of anywhere from 10 to 20 "basic" questions. The objective is to answer as many questions correctly as possible. Our customized Test Formats consist of Multiple-choice and Typing/Data Entry.
Multiple-Choice tests present the test taker with a question and at least two answer choices. The test taker is asked to select the best answer from the choices presented.
Typing/Data Entry tests require the test taker to enter data based on sample passages presented on-screen. In the case of typing tests, the test taker attempts to type as quickly and as accurately as possible within the chosen time limit.

Validation
All selection procedures (i.e., pre-employment assessments) must be validated according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidelines. These guidelines state that a test must be validated by one of three methods: criterion-related, construct-related, or content-related validation. The guidelines do not state that one method is any better than another; the method used must fit the type of tests a company creates.
Our test assessments use content-related validation; this type of validation is set up to ensure that tests are a representative sample of the subject matter being presented. The test is set up to measure an individual's basic .skill level at a particular period in time.
If our customers need to identify which skills will be required to successfully perform within each job position, i.e., a receptionist may need to know how to use Microsoft Word but may not need to know how to use the Mail Merge features, we can customize the test to fit your specifications.
